Gippsland Lakes Barge Service began operation in 1966.

The Business operates two vessels, The "Victory" and The "Sampson".

THE VICTORY

The "Victory" is an Aluminium Tug designed by Owen Cropp and is used for recovery work and shunting a 12.4m x 4.6m Dumb Barge ("little Vic"). The Dumb Barge has twin hydraulic front-loading ramps and a removable hydraulic rock tipper. Read more

The "Sampson" is an Aluminium Landing Craft specially designed by Bryan Chapman for GLBS. It is a multipurpose vessel 14.9m x 6.0m for use within the shallow waters of the Gippsland Lakes System. Read More

Both vessels and "Little Vic" are for hire on an hourly rate or contract rate for longer-term work or regular carriage.

All vessels are in current 2E survey and skippered by either a Coxswain or Master Class 5 skipper as required.
